About Us

Giantsteps is a visual design studio located in Venice Beach, California. We produce original imagery in commercials, films, music videos and emerging media for global entertainment distributors, advertisers, agencies and other production companies. Our experience and resources provide clients opportunities to work with us in any phase of production, be it from concept through delivery or starting somewhere in between. Every client we’ve worked with since launching in 2005 has been a source of repeat business.

Our approach is motivated by the slogan “creative enough to envy, smart enough to afford, small enough to care and large enough to deliver.” This careful balance is how we impress clients at a profit in today’s economy.

All projects are produced “in-house” with stellar crews tailored to unique creative requirements. We embrace emerging digital production technologies in image acquisition, rendering and compositing, yet maintain a relatively standard infrastructure to ensure timely deliveries.

Partners

Ryan Thompson and Michael Vaglienty founded Giantsteps. Thompson started his career in production with an Asian Anime studio in 1997 and has been heavily involved with visual effects since 1999. He worked in an executive management or supervising creative capacity for many popular small and multinational studios prior to launching the company. Vaglienty worked as a creative supervisor or lead artist for a decade prior to starting Giantsteps, contributing his talent to many groundbreaking, award-winning commericials and films for A-List directors. Although most projects reflect the talents of many artists at Giantsteps, Vaglienty and Thompson still play a “hands on” role in each project the studio produces.
